 Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering firm providing full design, engineering and consultancy services to the Oil & Gas, Renewables/Offshore Wind and Leisure market.

They design and engineer complete platforms and infrastructure for the oil & gas and renewables/offshore wind industry, deck lay outs, cable & pipe laying solutions for marine environment, great observation wheels and much more!

What will you do as a Senior Process Engineer?

As Senior Process Engineer you will be responsible for preparation, planning and provide the engineering services throughout the tender-, concept-, basic design- or detailed design phase of a project, for process systems for facilities related to both onshore- and offshore upstream Oil & Gas, hydrogen, downstream- and chemical facilities. As key member of the team, you are responsible for all process related subjects, additionally you support the project planning, identifying scope and progress and being a focal point of process in communication with project team and client. You will:

  • develop, prepare and check PFDs, HMB’s and P&IDs,
  • performing simulation and modelling to define and optimize process parameter, equipment sizing and performance
  • prepare sizing calculations for vessels, pumps, lines etc.
  • prepare safety valve relief load calculations
  • prepare design basis, safeguarding philosophy and control narrative and operating procedures
  • attend hazard and risk assessment, including HAZOP studies
  • identify and mitigate process safety risks to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of personnel and assets
  • develop project specifications, cost estimates and plan/schedule the process engineering activitie

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in safety studies, risk assessment and SIL assessments;
  • Perform and supervise engineers in performing simulations and calculations such as flare system analysis, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations;
  • Develop and prepare PFD and P&IDs, charts and safeguarding philosophy;
  • Plan/schedule the process engineering activities;
  • Identify the scope changes and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements 

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field;
  • 6 years working experience in process discipline preferably in the oil and gas industry (upstream);
  • +2 years working experience in similar position acting as Senior Process Engineer;
  • Strong knowledge and experience with process simulation software, Hysys, UniSim, Proll, Flare calculation softwares, Heat exchanger software (e.g. BJAC), Hazard analysis softwares (e,g. PHAworks), SIL softwares (e.g. Exelentia);
  • Detailed knowledge of engineering techniques and methods for projects in the above mentioned fields;.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (API, AMSE, ISO)
  • Experience with process safety management systems and hazard analysis technique
  • Able to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines with minimum supervision when required.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary projects;
  • Good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) and preferably Dutch;
  • Entitled to work in the Netherlands.
